Using Segmentation Filters

Using Segment Filters gives you powerful control over how you view and analyze your website traffic and marketing efforts. The Segmentation Filters tool allows you to create filters for your reports based on your own selected criteria. As an example, the following video walks you through creating a Geographic Segment filter called “Dutch” to include only visitors who came to your website from The Netherlands on any report. This kind of information may prove valuable in focusing your international marketing efforts. The basic segmentation categories are just examples. But a geographic segment is just one of the many segmentation filters. There are three basic types of Segment Filters: Geographic Segments, Marketing Campaigns, and Visitor Profiles. You can, for example, create a filter called “Referrer = http://www.mypartnersite.com/” which will allow you to filter any report, such as a conversion report, to include only visitors that were referred to your website from that particular partner site. This information may prove valuable in assessing the effectiveness of an individual partner site.

In some Logaholic reports, you can use Segmentation Filters to easily compare statistics for different marketing campaigns or view your website traffic generated solely through Google leads.
